One thing that the a lot of the world is afraid of (not me) is for gays to have equality. Years ago the world was scared of females gaining power, interracial marriage, and race equality. Many people are still against these things but overall the world has matured. But nowadays many people are still hung up on the fact that not everyone is attracted to the opposite sex.
Funnily enough some of these people are gay themselves.
